Worldly affairs entangle me, slander me, laugh at me, turning my hair white

你看那天边追逐落日的纸鸢

Look at the kite chasing the sunset on the horizon

像一盏回首道别夤夜的风灯

like a storm lantern looking back to say farewell to the night wearing on

我的心似流沙放逐在车辙旁

My heart is like quicksand, banished beside the wheel tracks

他日你若再返必颠沛在世上

If reborn one day, you would wander and struggle in this world

若遇那秋夜雨倦鸟也淋淋

If you happen upon that autumn night, weary from the rain

那却是花墙下弥留的枯黄

It will be like the withered yellow lingering beneath the flower wall

君住在钱塘东

You reside in the east of Tang’s Qiantang

妾在临安北

 I am in the north of Song’s Lin’an.

君去时褐衣红

You were gone with coarse clothes, blood stained

小奴家腰上黄

I followed you, the waist yellow-sashed

寻差了罗盘经

For campass errors of Yama King

错投在泉亭

I was reborn in Han’s Quanting

奴辗转到杭城

When I transmigrated to Sui’s Hangcheng

君又生余杭

But you were reincarnated in Pre-Qin’s Yuhang
